FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Can my grandchildren visit me overnight at a McKee Group adult 55-plus community?
A: The McKee Group's communities are designed for adults, but there is no reason
why you can't share your beautiful new home with your children and grandchildren!
Your family may visit you as often as they like, provided there are no permanent
residents under 19 years of age living in your home. Children under 19 may visit
you at least two weeks per year and share the community's grounds and even the
facilities with you on a limited basis.
Q: Doesn't "adult community" really mean it's a retirement home with a lot of older people?
A: Nothing could be farther from the truth! At each of The McKee Group's
communities, there is a wide mix of people of all ages and interests. Many people
who live in the communities work every day, and those that have retired enjoy
volunteering or traveling. There are doctors and lawyers, retirees and housewives,
married couples, widows and widowers.
Eighty percent of the homes must have one person in the household be 55, but
federal law permits a limited number of homeowners under the age of 55. No
permanent resident under 18 years of age is permitted.
We urge you to visit the communities and see for yourself how active, vital and
"young" The McKee Group's residents really are!
Q: Why would I want to live in a neighborhood without children?
A: Children are wonderful, but you've raised your children (and maybe your
grandchildren) and now you don't want to have to raise your neighbor's children.
Isn't it time you enjoyed a quiet, peaceful neighborhood with no basketball nets,
no skateboards or rollerblades and no loud cars?
